Stupid is as stupid does?
Buster's truck has had some issues lately. We had no idea that it had issues until we were going downtown and were stopped by a cop. The brake lights didn't work. So, he tried to fix it at home, no luck. He made an appointment to get it to the local Ford house to get it fixed. He called them telling them that his brakes worked fine, but the lights wouldn't come on. They said "bring it in at 8am and we'll get it fixed." ok. I took him to work that morning after he dropped off the truck and he called them at lunch to find out if anything is done. "Haven't got it in yet. We'll call you in about an hour." Hours passed, no call. He called them at 4pm. "Yes sir, your truck is ready to be picked up. It's $197.00 for the new fuel pump." Buster said "%#@&*!!!! I didn't need a new fuel pump. I need the brake lights fixed!" IDIOTS.
The next day, he called them again "Did you get my truck fixed yet?" "No, we have 5 ahead of you." Buster then says "Look, I took my truck in when you told me to. I told you what I needed, you guys gave me something I didn't need and I expect this truck fixed TODAY. Get it done." So, they moved him ahead of the others and got it in.
After he gets home (he wasn't charged for the fuel pump), he checks the brake lights to see if they work.....NOPE! NOTHING WAS DONE!
So, the moral to this story is: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THE FORD PLACE IN WILLISTON, ND!

The Perils of Aggravation
Today, I had the day off since I worked all weekend at the library. My plan was to dress, take kids to school, go buy a bookcase or something that would work for a bookcase and rearrange the half of my room and then catch up on laundry and cook.
Well, let me tell you....that 'build it yourself' crap they sell at Wal Mart is a waste of money. I spent $15 bucks on what could have been a pretty good bookcase, and came home, attempted to assemble it and it was missing several parts and then it broke while I was attempting to put it together. Needless to say, I was NOT happy. I sorta threw it down and gave up on it. Mom and I went to get a ugly, plastic, 'use it for the garage' type of shelving unit and guess what? It worked great! Not the prettiest thing in the world, but since we still have mix and match and icky bedroom furniture, it kinda fits right in! I now have all of my books that aren't in storage on the new ugly bookcase and my half of the room doesn't look too bad.
Here's what it looks like now:
Here's my "Millennium" books (I still need the last one, grrrrr), my "Stephanie Plumb" books, my Danielle Steel collection and my Robert James Waller books.
These are just various vampire and supernatural romance books that I have. I'm wanting to get all of the J.R. Ward books, but only have one as of right now.
I have a wild variety of items here.....Water for Elephants, John Grisham, Lolita, In Cold Blood, Rosemary's Baby, Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, The Time Traveler's Wife, and various biographies.
Somewhere in storage, I have several books on my favorite films: Titanic, Wizard of Oz, Gone With The Wind, The Bridges of Madison County and Twilight. I will be a happy girl once all these things get out of storage, but my problem is, where to put them all....LOL.

Nicky's New Room Phase One
Phase One has begun! Here's some photos of the progress:
New walls, and getting rid of the old closet.
The old and the new
New walls are coming!
Today they were going to work on the room, but since Buster finally had a whole day off, he just rested. Nothing wrong with that! Tomorrow, I think they'll work on the ceiling some more. Me? I'm staying out of the way!
Stinky
Mom went to work today and came home with Stinky. I missed most of the action with Buzz by the time I got my camera going, but here's Stinky, Buzz and Mom.
He tried to eat Stinky! Now, Stinky is sitting on our bar out of harm's way.

New Adventures at the House of Boda
Hello there one and all! We've had some things to do around our house and the most important as of late has been to attack the basement. Nick and Madison live there and haven't been able to reside in their rooms since the last freak blizzard the first of May. Thanks to a ton of snow and then rain, most of the town's basements flooded and some damage was done.
Our goal is to remodel Nick's room first. Buster will build a new closet, enlarge the room itself, replace the ceiling, the walls, paint the cement floor, and then he'll have a new bed, rugs and so on. Phase One began today!
I wish I had a good photo of his room with all his furniture in it BEFORE the flooding/destruction and mess....oh well, trust me, it was a nice room (usually messy) and then it was a hot mess. LOL.
Here's what the basement looked like AFTER the flooding:
Today, Buster and Nick were able to remove the rest of the ceiling, tear down the walls and frame one of the new walls. Tomorrow, I believe the goal is to get the new ceiling up.
More updates to come when news develops! Thanks for checking in on us!

The carpet (which was new) was ripped up to avoid mold and smell. Now we have a beautiful (NOT) cement floor to look at. |

This was Nick's closet. It was sopping wet and is about to be demolished. He'll have a larger and dryer closet soon. Notice, the carpet was also ripped up here and throughout the entire basement. |

This was the small room Eden had when she came to live with us for a while. Now, it will be the new part of Nick's room where the new closet will be. |
